IN THE SOUTH WEST?
As we gear up to the Olympics this summer, we thought it would be fun - and a great inspiration for all our students – to go in search of the South West’s Fastest Teacher!
From the furthest corner of Cornwall, right up to bright lights of Bristol we want to find our classrooms’ fastest teachers… and then pit them against each other in a feisty final to find our champions!
We are inviting teachers who enjoy running to step up to the starting line and pit yourselves against other local runners, such as our very own Head of Science, Chris Ridler, who often takes a podium place in anything from 10k’s through to the ultra-marathons!
Can you beat him or does The Maynard already boast the South West’s fastest? Help us find out as part of our Olympic celebrations.

Choose between submitting a 5K, 10K or half marathon result from a run or race you've already completed.
Show a recorded Strava run of one of those distances taken in the last two years, or if you have an account, we can use your results on the runbritain website.
If numbers suffice we will split the event into categories, giving you an even better chance of becoming our first ever fastest teacher!
The fastest men and women will be invited to attend the live final at The Balmy Bicton 10K race on Sunday 7th July 2024 to find out who will be crowned our champions!
Places will be booked and paid for by us here at The Maynard – all you have to do is turn up and put your best foot forward!
The fastest male and female teachers will take home prizes and the all-important title... Are you ready for the challenge?

In the run up to and during the event, the public and your students will be able to see the latest entries on our social media accounts and follow a leaderboard of fastest times on our website.
